Noel Chenier was born and raised in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada. He recieved a Diploma of Fine Craft in Photography in 1997 from the NB College of Craft and Design in Fredericton.

Soon after graduating, Noel became a full-time freelancer photographer, and in April of 1998 he was hired by the New Brunswick Telegraph Journal, the provincial daily newspaper, as their staff photographer.

Noel has covered a broad range of subjects, including peace keeping in war-torn Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovar Refugees, royal visits, leadership conventions, and major sporting events.

Noel's work has appeared in newspapers across North America, including the Globe and Mail, the National Post, the USA Today, the Ottawa Citizen, the Montreal Gazette, and the Toronto Star, and magzines Maclean's, Elm Street, Homemaker, and Photo Life.
He is also a frequent contributor to the Canadian Press Newswire service.

Noel has been awarded Atlantic Journalism Awards for Feature Photography in 2003 and 2006, and Spot News Photography in 2008. He has also been nominated for Spot News Photography in 1997 and 2002, and Feature Photography in 1998. He has also won two Canadian Press Pictures of the Month along with six nominations.

Noel is also a part-time photography instructor, having taught and lectured at New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, the University of New Brunswick, and St Thomas University, as well as courses for the general public. Noel has a Bachelor of Adult Education from the University of New Brunswick.
